November 4th, 2010:
When I spoke to Dave & Jenn about the engagement pictures, they decided that they wanted a shoot with interesting architecture, something uncommon, something glamorous. So I suggested that they head out from the OC to the Big City, and unfortunately they also encountered severe Big City traffic, even on a Saturday.
Nonetheless, they showed up in red-carpet worthy outfits: Jenn in a sweeping ballgown with subtle Art Deco-inspired details on the bodice (my wife’s womanly observations of fashion, not mine), while Dave was dapper in a very current gray suit and skinny tie that Don Draper would approve of (also my wife’s description, since, according to her, I don’t have much sartorial sense – I totally disagree: cargo shorts, flip-flops and polos are so in).
With such a beautiful, impeccably-dressed couple, two gorgeous locations and an “awesome assistant” (my wife’s words, although she said I shouldn’t write this on here), I had my work cut out for me. I’ll let the pictures speak for themselves:
We had so much fun that I shot for more than 2 hours until it was utterly dark, leaving all four of us famished when I was finally done. We headed off for a post-shoot dinner at The Grove, where we hung out and shared lots of laughs.
Felicia and I can’t wait to be part of Dave & Jenn’s wedding day in January – and maybe I’ll even wear a gray suit and skinny tie, if the wife approves.
