A couple weeks ago I headed out to the little German inspired village of Leavenworth, Washington to photograph Scott + Liesbet’s wedding at the Tierra Retreat Center. It was an absolutely gorgeous May day for these two to tie the knot under the trees and I could have asked for a more happy crowd of people.
Congrats again Liesbet + Scott and thanks for having me celebrate with you!

I’m a huge fan of intimate weddings. The idea of having just the absolute most important people gather around you while you move forward as a couple seems so perfect to me (and not to look like I’m just saying it, we only had 42 people at our celebration when Felicia and I were married).
So when Monal gave me a call and told me their idea for the day, I was 100% on board. We started off with a first look at their favorite hangout and the site of their engagement, Cloudburst Brewing in downtown Seattle, before heading down to Georgetown for a ceremony and dinner at the Frans Chocolate factory.
The day flew by, but I was thrilled to spend it with these two, congrats again and I’ll see you soon for your post wedding session!

“We’d love to have a shoot in the snow!”
That was all I needed to hear from Anuprita + Madan for us to start planning an adventure up into Snoqualmie Pass to find spot that was appropriately blanketed in white fluff. That morning I headed out a little early and scouted out Golden Creek Pond and when these two arrived they were game for the long walk to get out there. Despite the near freezing temperatures, these two were all about this shoot!
Thanks to you both for the great day in the wilderness!

Last weekend I headed out for an overcast afternoon to Discovery Park with Anusha and Varun for a Pre-Wedding photography session before their wedding in India in February. We were super lucky to still capture some of that awesome Pacific Northwest fall color and the ground blanketed with leaves.
Congrats you both on the upcoming wedding and thanks for the great afternoon!

My heart melts when I hear clients want to schedule 2 hours on their wedding day for portraits and then go the extra mile to sign a friend up to drive us all over the city (who waited patiently in the car avoiding parking tickets). Andrea + Joey and I were able to hit up location after location (including shots at a favorite bar!) all over Seattle before settling for their ceremony and celebration at the Westland Distillery.
This was the last wedding I have scheduled for 2018, and it was the perfect way to cap a spectacular year. I’m headed off on a few trips now (Nepal first and then Washington D.C.) so be sure to hit up my Instagram for the day-to-day updates!
Joey + Andrea, Thank you for being two epic human beings and trusting all my tinkering to create something for you to remember!

“Hey Robert, we’re thinking about canceling our wedding and eloping with just our family as guests, do you think you could make that happen with us?” (I’m paraphrasing here).
“Uh… Hell yeah!”
Yosemite National Park is one of my favorite places in the world and I’d be damned if I didn’t jump on the opportunity to photograph a wedding here, especially for such outdoor badasses like Daniel + Michelle! (Daniel is also a passionate photographer, if you’re so inclined).
They were married under a (sadly) waterless Lower Yosemite Falls, we captured pictures around the valley, caught twilight at Glacier Point and then proceeded to party hard until the sheriff showed up to calm everyone down (seriously). I couldn’t have asked for a better way to spend a Sunday in October; Congrats to you both!

Lauren + Nile are off in Fiji right now, but a couple weeks back I spent two days with them at their destination wedding at the Chrysalis Inn in Bellingham Washington. It was a fantastic, intimate weekend surrounded by their loved ones and even officiated by a Robert Paetz Photography 2016 alumni bride, T!
Another huge congratulations to you both, and I hope the honeymoon is so all consuming that you don’t see this post until you’re on you way home!
