Congrats to Latha + Kara! They had a beautifully epic ceremony at the Loews Hotel in Santa Monica!

Happy New Year everyone! I trust you all survived the holidays? After a couple weeks of houseguests and holiday insanity, I’m back to try to share some things I have shot in the last couple months.
About a month ago I headed out with Shannon + Garrett (and Oxide the Rhodesian Ridgeback) to the Santa Rosa Plateau to catch up with the two of them (since it’s been almost 4 years since their wedding) and capture some new images for them with the new fur baby. I can never say enough about the Californian winter light, but I guess you can see that too!

Mark + Monica are getting married in January, but before that can happen we were able to spend an afternoon getting to know each other up in Solvang and a Santa Ynex vineyard photographing their engagement session. These two relaxed, laughed and had were a fantastic couple to spend a beautiful fall day with.
Thanks for the great afternoon and I’ll see you both again in a couple months!

It may have rained on Marty + Rachel’s wedding at the Victorian in Santa Monica, but that gave us even more reason to do their photos with a giant fake golden rhino! (as if you would ever need extra reasons to take pictures with a golden rhino….) Anyways these two just rolled with the weather, laughing and having a spectacular time with all their family and friends. The rain even eventually cleared out for a few minutes and we were able to get outside and grab a few twilight images with with some ominous clouds.
I hope you are both having an amazing time in Hawaii and thanks for letting me celebrate with you!

Will + Christine are fellow Burbank locals and when they said they wanted to do the first part of their engagement shoot in downtown Burbank I was stoked – I love our hidden “little town” of Los Angeles and these two mark the first time I get to shoot around my own haunts. We scheduled for last weekend for Burbank and Placenta Canyon but due to a crazy last minute flash flood warning and an insane summer storm, half way though our shoot in Burbank, we had to reschedule the Santa Clarita part for a few days later.
These two just rolled with the changes and even suffered a bit of tropical humidity for their shoot. Congrats to you both!

A couple weekends back, Kenny and I headed to Santa Monica to take part in the intimate wedding of Yuriy and Natalia. They started their day off getting ready and having their first look at the Shangri-La Hotel on Ocean Blvd. before heading over to Palisades Park for a ceremony attended by their family and close friends. We finished off their afternoon with a portrait session overlooking the ocean as the skies changed to a beautiful cerulean blue twilight.
Congrats again Yuriy + Natalia! Thanks for the fantastic day!

We met Candice and Ron a little more than a year ago at Nathan and Joanna‘s wedding in the Dominican Republic where Candice played the role of maid or honor and sister of the groom, and since I had already spent a few days around them at an all-inclusive resort, I knew in advance that they are very chill people. When they sent over a few pictures of their wild Santa Clarita back yard as a location for their engagement shoot I all about it – when I got there the colors and light just popped and I couldn’t of asked for more.
Thanks to you both for the great afternoon and the chance to visually tell your story! See you soon!

Los Angeles has lots of amazing locations, and we met with Krystal & Dan at the Santa Monica Airport for their engagement session, which is our first aviation-related shoot. Dan had taken Krystal on a plane ride there, sweeping over the Californian coastline towards Malibu, before the proposal. Well done, Dan.
Krystal made arrangements with the amazing crew at Santa Monica Aviation, who allowed us to explore their hangar and planes, and we quickly learned to avoid being run down by Cessnas landing on the runway behind us.
Thanks Krystal & Dan for an amazing experience!
This green and yellow plane is the actual one that Krystal and Dan flew in!

Yaelle & Josh got in touch with us a couple of months ago about an engagement shoot here in Los Angeles as they would be getting married in Chicago. Turns out, Santa Monica is THE special spot for them, since Josh had proposed there on the beach.
But, with 7.3 million visitors a year, shooting at Santa Monica pier on a weekend in summer often feels as though all 7 million of those people showed up there all at once.
So we all woke up at unpalatable hours where it was still dark out, met up for a sunrise shoot, and managed to have our run of the pier before those 7 million people arrived. Nice.
Congrats Yaelle & Josh!
