June 24th, 2019:
Late night sunsets and that epic golden light that comes with being in the Pacific Northwest were the perfect setting for Jessica + Rachel’s session last week in Seattle. I was able to get to know them both while wandering Discovery Park and was reminded once again how lucky I am to have such charming and trusting clients! See you both in October!
Walking back to the car, the sky showed up with this, so duh, we had to stop for one more picture.

A couple weeks ago I headed out to the little German inspired village of Leavenworth, Washington to photograph Scott + Liesbet’s wedding at the Tierra Retreat Center. It was an absolutely gorgeous May day for these two to tie the knot under the trees and I could have asked for a more happy crowd of people.
Congrats again Liesbet + Scott and thanks for having me celebrate with you!

I headed down to Point Defiance in Tacoma for the first time since moving up to Seattle, and I have to say, DAMN, that’s a great urban park. In fact I dug it so much, that a few days after this epic shoot with Peter + Yo Sun, Felicia and I headed down there ourselves for a Saturday wander!
April 18th, 2019:
Sarah + John wanted to do their engagement session at the Santa Monica Pier, and I immediately suggested early morning; the light that time of day is usually beautiful and (even more importantly) there is very few people around. Monday morning was no different when we showed up at 8am, it seemed like we had the entire place to ourselves. As you can imagine, finding that privacy in one of the big tourist draws in Los Angeles is fantastic!
I had a great time getting to know these two and look forward to their wedding in the fall. Thanks to you both for letting me start off my week with a camera in my hand!
April 5th, 2019:
February and March started my 40th year off right; first headed to Vietnam to work with PeaceTrees to document their various projects and Citizen Diplomats. After Vietnam I bounced over to Japan to meet Felicia and have a right proper vacation. Here are a few of my favorites from the 2.5 weeks in Vietnam and I’ll share more from Japan soon.

It’s always fantastic to catch up with past friends and clients, and as ridiculous as it sounds, we met Avi + Angie nearly six years ago before their engagement session and then photographed their wedding day (time moves too damn quickly). Now their family has grown and I was able to spend an afternoon with them meeting Asher for the first time, doing some family photos and then catching up over dinner/drinks that went late into the evening.
Building your visual family history is a role I take seriously, images captured today continue to gain value as time goes on, and I am honored to watch your family grow. If you would like a family session (or any other type of sessions), I’ll be down in Los Angeles for a couple weeks in April just to capture all the growing families of my 200+ wedding clients from the last 8 years. Drop me a message and we’ll get you all set up!

I’m a huge fan of intimate weddings. The idea of having just the absolute most important people gather around you while you move forward as a couple seems so perfect to me (and not to look like I’m just saying it, we only had 42 people at our celebration when Felicia and I were married).
So when Monal gave me a call and told me their idea for the day, I was 100% on board. We started off with a first look at their favorite hangout and the site of their engagement, Cloudburst Brewing in downtown Seattle, before heading down to Georgetown for a ceremony and dinner at the Frans Chocolate factory.
The day flew by, but I was thrilled to spend it with these two, congrats again and I’ll see you soon for your post wedding session!

“We’d love to have a shoot in the snow!”
That was all I needed to hear from Anuprita + Madan for us to start planning an adventure up into Snoqualmie Pass to find spot that was appropriately blanketed in white fluff. That morning I headed out a little early and scouted out Golden Creek Pond and when these two arrived they were game for the long walk to get out there. Despite the near freezing temperatures, these two were all about this shoot!
Thanks to you both for the great day in the wilderness!
January 3rd, 2019:
Happy New Year everyone! I trust you all survived the holidays? After a couple weeks of houseguests and holiday insanity, I’m back to try to share some things I have shot in the last couple months.
About a month ago I headed out with Shannon + Garrett (and Oxide the Rhodesian Ridgeback) to the Santa Rosa Plateau to catch up with the two of them (since it’s been almost 4 years since their wedding) and capture some new images for them with the new fur baby. I can never say enough about the Californian winter light, but I guess you can see that too!
