August 11th, 2011:
Felicia and I met Shaby and Mike more than a year before their wedding day, when we shot their engagement session at The Grove. Time surely flies, as a few weeks ago, we were reunited again at their wedding at The Vineyards.
Shaby put in lots of effort with handmade details throughout the wedding, including these blue bows for a cohesive look. (I never thought I would need to pay attention to little wedding details – I don’t think I even paid much attention to these things at my own wedding – but now I do.)
Pretty shoes and comfy shoes.
Besides the Tiffany wedding bands, Shaby’s bridesmaids were also lucky recipients of Tiffany’s necklaces as gifts.
Being of Persian heritage, Shaby’s ceremony site also included the traditional Sofreh, an elaborate display of symbolic items. It was really quite beautiful and reminiscent of all the assorted ‘lucky’ traditional things that Felicia’s Mom prepared for our wedding too.
Dude, this was seriously the most epic array of fruit I’ve ever seen – at a wedding or otherwise. I didn’t gorge myself on fruit since I was working. Perhaps Shaby knew that too and sent us a fruit arrangement, post-wedding. Sweet!
Shaby designed the cake (and made the sparkly cake stand), and was absolutely thrilled that it turned out exactly the way she envisioned. No Cake Wrecks here!
Congrats, Shaby & Mike!
