June 6th, 2011:

Ariel and Mike contacted us a few weeks back to talk about their backyard wedding next Memorial Day.  We met them at their home  and learnt that Mike had proposed during the Theodore Payne Garden Tour, complete with an engagement ring that he made himself.  We totally agreed that such sentimental locations would be perfect for their engagement session, so Ariel contacted a couple of the home owners who had these beautiful gardens and both couples excitedly volunteered their homes to have the shoot take place.  I honestly couldn’t have asked for better locations: charming hosts, no security concerns and complete privacy! It made for a perfect session.

Thanks again Martha & Debe and Michael & Ken, your gardens and hospitality were wonderful!

The ring that Mike made. How much more romance can you ask for? Clearly, besides being an avid gardener, he also has killer blacksmithing and jewelry-making skills.

This is the exact secluded spot where Mike popped the question. Re-enactment was completely necessary.
