Tink-Tink-Tink-Tink…
I woke up to that sound on Sunday morning… The tink-ing lets me know it’s raining before I ever open my eyes. Sort of a “Rain Alarm” if you will.
Let me explain, Felicia and I live in a tiny house with a red door built in the 1940’s, it lacks central air-conditioning so we have two window units (one in the living room, one in the bedroom). Unfortunately the eves on the house don’t extend far enough to cover the air-conditioners that extend from our windows, so every time it rains, we wake up to a constant tink-tink-tink-tink… When we first moved in I found this obsessively annoying, but now it has grow to comfort me, and the noise alone lets me know I should throw on another blanket and fall asleep for another hour.
Ok, so back on track. It’s raining, I slept in, and we have an afternoon engagement shoot with Hannah and Kobie. Rescheduling shoots because of the weather is common, but I also know Felicia and I are coming up on a few very busy weeks and there might not be another chance for this shoot anytime soon. I spoke with Hannah, she and Kobie were completely happy to try their luck with the weather. For the rest of the afternoon all I could focus on was hoping the tink-tink-tink on my A/C would stop. It never did.
The good news though, is that during our drive from Burbank to Olvera street, it did decide to stop raining for a few minutes… then start again… then finally stop for good, just minutes before our shoot. We ended up having an amazing shoot, with beautiful soft overcast light and a perfect couple who kept their spirits high, even when the rain decided to mist on us all from time to time. We even managed to run across the street and shoot in Union Station for a little while as well.
Since the shoot, the tink-ing has resumed and now all I can worry about is Anthony and Yenny’s wedding on Saturday…. geez, who knew being a photographer was this stressful…
Congrats again on your engagement and thanks for being such a astounding couple! We look forward to working with you again!

Oh they are such a fun couple! I’m glad they were good sports in the rain, because I love the rain!
You guys this is fantastic, I enjoy looking at your work and I wish you had a different couple featured every day (but then you would’t have a life at all he he).
Keep up the good work!

Awesome work! I love the slightly candid feel, and the light in all of them is really nice too.
I check back a month after I find you and you’ve posted so many new good photos! Sheesh! I gotta get my act together. 😉
Beautiful.
