Day: 166
$12 pesos ($4) for two cups of coffee and a couple pieces of bread! Outragous! I think this tour is making money of us right and left. Yesterday we had a “guide” on the bus, but she told us nothing about trip, she just spent the entire time trying to sell us tours for once we got deep in Patagonia. I declined. All day the bus kept stopping in the most out of the way places where a little family in their garage was waiting with some hot empandas and pizza waiting to charge us for it. Tricky Bastards, the bus drivers surely getting a kick back.
The scenery is getting more spectacular though and by the time we made it to El Chaltan (11pm) it looked like a tiny frontier town, 300 permanant residents. We checked in found some beer and a few of us that had become friends on the bus, set a plan to hike up to one of the glaciers tomorrow at 10 am.
