Day: 311

Day 311-10.JPG

“Trains make traveling in Europe so easy.”

Anyone whose been around has heard it at least once,  I am sure it has passed my lips on a number of occasions.

Our two hour trip from Munich turned into a disaster, when the first train we were supposed to be on was canceled, and the second one never showed, we were starting to get frustrated and confused.  I have never before had such trouble in any European train station.  I hunted down an attendant and found all the trains to Salzburg were now leaving out of were leaving out of the east train station on the other side of town.  We hopped the underground across town, ran through that train station and found ourselves in a train with standing room only as the doors closed.

After a few stops, the Friday afternoon crowds dispersed from the train and we found seats.  A couple more hours and we were in Salzburg; home of Mozart and Sound of Music.  The hills weren’t alive, and the skies were such a dreary grey that we couldn’t even see said hills.  Instead we settled for a little rambling around town, a kebab and beer, and night of hanging out with random people in the hostel bar.
