It’s time to play catch up on the blog! I have a few more posts to share from my April trip to Vietnam (such as this one), but in the last 30 days I have also shot a bunch of engagement sessions, headed into Olympic National Park and I just returned from 30 days in Iceland.
This week, I have a ton more photographs to create and I can’t wait to see what gets made for my amazing clients. The blog will be a little out of order for the next few posts, mixing Travel and NGO stuff with the current engagement and wedding work.
For my trip to Vietnam I was hired by the Global Community Service Foundation to spend a week documenting all their various projects to create new visuals to help raise awareness and funds. Most of their work is around Dong Ha, Cam Lo, and Khe Sanh, Vietnam.
The foundation built and sponsors a school for the blind in Dong Ha, maintain a computer lab in Cam Lo, and also offer education to the Pako and Van Kieu ethnic minorities through a school house they sponsor and built in 2011.
Additionally the Global Community Service Foundation also helps the Lam Bich Catholic Orphanage, which is home to 33 children. The GCSF provides food, meals, diapers and arranges special medical help as needed; they also arranges for volunteers to come an visit or help at the orphanage and connects donors who want to give directly to the orphanage.
Spending a few days with all the children of these schools and orphanages was absolutely heartwarming for me and it made me proud to be able to help in the small way I can. I can’t encourage you enough to support the Global Community Service Foundation.
