Earlier this week, we were headed to Anne & Andrew’s engagement shoot in stop-and-go traffic when we got rear-ended hard on the freeway, and the impact shoved us into the car in front of us. Shaken but otherwise (generally) unscathed, we eventually lost sight of the car that hit us. While I called 911, Rob called Anne & Andrew to let them know, in case we had to reschedule: LAPD informed us that they were really busy, and would dispatch an officer when one was available.
Thankfully, we always leave for shoots with a LOT of buffer time, and after a CHP officer arrived at the scene, we sufficiently composed ourselves and made our way to San Pedro for the shoot, arriving well on time.
It was also “one of those days” for Anne & Andrew – including misadventures with accidentally-dyed pants – so we were glad that we could at least go ahead with their shoot as planned.
Luckily for us, Anne & Andrew are so comfortable with each other and were a breeze to photograph. Enjoying easy banter with Anne & Andrew helped me temporarily ignore the nagging strain in my neck, back, and shoulders, although that night I truly felt how bloody heavy my favorite lens is!
