March 23rd, 2011:
Hellen & Jose came referred through Nathasha, whose Dad is Hellen’s godfather, and this was one of the sessions we shot during our insanely hectic week.
Jose was so apologetic when he got in touch the week before to reschedule their session because Hellen was sick. It seemed like some nasty flu bug in Southern California was affecting all our scheduled couples, which meant last week we had 5 sessions in 5 days (not to mention 2 weddings and a pro-bono event).
Thankfully on the day of our shoot, Hellen showed up looking completely radiant, awesome, and ready to rock this photoshoot – which she totally did!
Jose recently spent 3 months for work in Singapore. Felicia was quite excited that someone not only knew where Singapore was, but actually lived there for a bit!
To get this shot, I was laying on similar stones across from Jose & Hellen, and dipped my camera strap into the water. Recently I’ve been dipping myself into all sorts of dubious bodies of water and Felicia is convinced I’ll eventually catch some nasty skin disease. I disagree.
Mmm… duck-flavored water…. (why is Felicia shooting ducks while I’m hard at work, I don’t know. Slacker!) There were LOTS of ducks at this mini lake we were shooting at, but they got out of the way for the most part. Dang. Bye, dinner…
You guys are awesome to work with and so much fun! Thanks for being such great sports and Hellen, for walking into the middle of that pond in your high heels! Congrats on finding each other and we look forward to working with you again.
[Note: We just got back from Nevada late yesterday – thankfully I got to snooze while the wife got us home in 3.5hours at 30mpg on our rental car. Hmmm maybe I should make her drive more often – and saying I have a shitload of editing to do might be an understatement. Many more picture-filled posts to come!]
