Early September:

Been a mellow week or so, spent a few days in my Dad’s truck running boxes from Grandpa’s house in Orange County to Moms house in Riverside, we are quickly filling her garage.  The multiple 60-mile roundtrips had a soothing momentum to them, just blasting the music and letting my face get pummeled by the warm winds blowing into the truck left me smiling.

Soon here, we will be getting Grandpa’s house on the market so he can move to a house in Riverside so he can be closer to his daughters.  Since I have been living with him the help out as much as I can, I see his daily astonishment of how much stuff he has, I guess after 46 years in the same house you fill every nook and cranny with something.  Seeing this gives me good incentive not to spend a lifetime collecting “stuff”.

Other than that I managed to get some family time in on Labor Day at my Mom’s house (surrounded by an ever-multiplying brood of children), and also had a BBQ with Dad where we were able to have long conversations over beers (mainly about our wives), which also has a growing multitude of children around.

All in all, life has been relatively quiet and unfortunately lonely.  Hopefully only a few more months and my wife and I will be together.
