Day: 442

So, with my dedication to become a  great blogger again, I’m back. Especially with my brother Aaron ragging on me all weekend that I need to get this blog up and running. So here I am, just back from three days in Yosemite Valley in the winter. It lacked some of the luster of the perfect white snow cover of last year, but it was still a great weekend to get away. This time we managed to get both my brothers and Matt’s wife Niki (although Matt and Niki didn’t arrive until late tonight, so they aren’t present just yet in this point in our story) to come along with Mom, Mike and I.

Our day was pretty mellow actually, after a late start in Oakhurst (about an hour and a half outside of the valley), we had a leisurely day meandering in the park, eating assorted cheeses and drinking under Yosemite falls.  After a few hours the sun started setting and we headed over to El Capitan to see if we could witness the Horsetail Falls “Firefall” which happens the last two weeks of February each year when the setting sun makes it explode with color.

We ended our night when Matt and Niki arrived and we all headed out for pizza and beer in Camp Curry, telling those stories that get told when large families get together.
