Day: 302

Day 302 -0002.JPG

How do you argue with a three year old?  After a day at the laundromat, eating pizza and drinking beers with Matt, and an extensive drive from Grass Valley to Sequoia National Park,  Regan decided to argue with me…

“Hey girls, check out the sunset!”

“No!” Regan screamed. “That’s a rainbow!”

“Uhh… I hate to say it kid but, I am pretty sure it’s a sunset.”

“Rainbow!”

Our conversation pretty much continued just like that for the next fifteen minutes or so, until my sister finally announced that we were no longer allowed to talk to each other.

Still being fairly convinced that I was correct about this celestial movement, I suggested that we ask the Ranger as we were pulling up to pay our park fees.  Unfortunately, when I made this mystery solving suggestion, Regan screamed “RAINBOW!” one more time (rather vehemently) and I was told I better drop it…

Other good news: When we pulled into the campsite, the tent Sarah had brought for here and the girls had no poles. They got to sleep in the back of the SUV.  Myself, it being such a beautiful night, didn’t even bother with my tent and just unrolled my sleeping pad and bag on the ground for a night under the stars.
