Day: 221
I am constantly amazed that after all this time I still enjoy keeping this blog up. Normally I fall in love with the idea of doing something, get really into it, get really good at it, then get bored. I think that is one of the things that keeps me perpetually interested in photography, everytime I think I am getting good, I discover something to make better. My ideas are freshened up. Just some thoughts.
Today was another pretty normal day around the AE beach cabanas, I was there for only a couple of hours before I got bored with the same old, same old and I headed back to my room to take a nap and write a couple of blog entries. I was going to have a big night photographing the Ludacris concert tonight.
When I got to the nightclub it was still early and I ran into the other two photographers, that were working for studentcity.com, and it was only a few minutes of them eyeballing my gear and they were asking me all kinds of advice for shooting in these dark nightclubs. I won’t proclaim to know a lot, but I know how my camera works (which is something they didn’t understand), I gave them a few pointers and quickly made my way to the other side of the stage, as far from them as I could. I wanted my pictures to have a completely different view from theirs (plus Ludacris’ crew set up their bar right in front of them.)
I shot for the entire concert (I was getting paid for these pictures on top of my blogging contract), getting a few shots that I like and easily the 10 shots that AE wanted.
The show didn’t end until 3am, and by that time I was so tired that I didn’t feel like starting to drink (even though I had an all you can drink wristband on). I went home and went to bed.
As I was closing my eyes, I realized this was the third day in a row I haven’t had anything to drink!
Damn!

Cool concert shots Rob. That 5D so rocks on high ISO!
Passing on free drinks…Could this be the end for our hero?
