Day: 158
I don’t know why, but it’s been so hard to get motivated to write lately, It may be because I have started to shoot everything in RAW format so it has already almost tripled my time at the computer downloading and editing. Or, it may just that I am a lazy bastard. Most likely the second…
So, Ill do my best… These pictures are from the Retiro area of Buenos Aires, where the giant (so big it needs street signs) Recoleta Cemetary is located and Evita Peron’s grave is swarming with tourists. There are also a few of Argentinas Congressional Plaza, an Art/Craft street fair, and a gigantic metal flower (like 50 feet tall) that closes when the sun goes down; although I only heard that, didn’t actually see it happen.
In other happenings, this city is quickly ranking right up there with Krakow, Poland as one of the best cities on the planet, Its hard to leave, especially with the inevitable 20 hour bus ride that I have to pack for right now, but I know Ill be back for a few days before flying home. One other thing that I have become completely twiter-paeted (sp? It’s from Bambi) is my new 70-200mm f/2.8 IS lens. It does amazing things and has been locked to my camera for about half the shots I’ve taken in the last 5 days.

Very photogenic city. The statue in the congressional plaza. What does he have in his hand and why is it red. Street fair is really interesting. In yesterdays blog, I really liked that corner cafe. It really reminded me of Europe. What is the weather compared to here and what if the time difference?
I forgive you Rob. I’m sure you had no choice but to drink wine in plastic. Did it make your palate cringe and cramp up into a face, kinda like pulling your lower lip over your eyes? I’m sorry you had to experience such a nasty situation in your early years.
By the way, my Wine Dinner is sold out, approx 50 people at the restaurant.
I hope your trip to the pseudo Yosemite is one which will produce many enjoyable memories and pictures for us to enjoy. Best of luck on the 20 hour trip.
Feeling you on the sensor dust, it’s the bain of all digital photographer’s existence. I’ll think of you on my next trip to the Canon service center in Irvine.
Call me lazy, but what I do is shoot jpg + raw. If I like the jpg I keep it, but if I screwed up the WB or exposure I’ll go back to the raw to fix it. Eats up more storage that way though.
BTW, the first(Statue with a baby and the sun in the corner) and the last(big a$$ metal flower) photos were amazing. Great shots!
You’re getting better. I love the statue pic with the sun in the corner.
it would have helped alot if the girl’s hand and the baby’s hand wasnt coming into contact with anything though. You broke up a perfect silloette…… man.
