Day: 71
Vito, says my life here on the beach is just like the life of a dog. Get up, eat, lay around, eat, drink, take a walk, take a nap, eat, drink, sleep. Now while things might not be exactly like that, I can see the comparison makes some sense.
This morning I woke up early, a little prior to seven, and still excited about my new bike I decided to go for a ride to start getting myself in shape. I rode about 15 miles, from Balboa Pier to Huntington Pier and back again. The only thing this made me realize is exactly how out of shape I am. My goal that I have set for myself is to be able to ride 50 miles a day, with my bike fully loaded, by the 29th of this month. That gives me roughly two and half weeks.
I got back from my ride, ate breakfast, took a nap, read a book (The Shipping News, which I found in a closet here), ate lunch, had a drink (Goose Cape Cod, finally some Goose Nellie!), sat on the patio watching the world go by, had another drink, read some more, took another little ride with my friend Daniel, had another drink, ate dinner with the family, and went to sleep. I think Vito is right, my life is extremely similar to the amount of responsibilities of a dog.

Yup, same as a dog, the only responsibility you have is not to go to the bathroom on the carpet!
Hey Rob,
Were In Krakow right now and you were right it’s pretty cool. We’ve seen the pictures of us you took (could they be any worse). We saw the two heathier women (as you put it) in Amsterdam too and in the light of day they were
even worse (for all robs blog readers we were not hitting on them). The $5000 camera was worth it, you’ve got some pretty sweet pictures (except the one’s of us). Anyway enjoy your ride across America. After all them kebabs we’re suprised you can ride that far.
Later Dude.
Love the picture of the rowing teams..beautiful absolutely beautiful. If you can’t sell your pics goddamit I’ll support you!! Glad to here you have your grips on the Goose. Love that frickin bird. Love that you are in the presence of your family and you’re on such a beautiful ride up the coast. Grew up in Monterey Bay, so stop in at the River Inn at Big Sur they have these two seater redwood seats in the river and jazz on the weekends. Great places to eat in Monterey………..Be the god dang dog and lay like broccoli!!
If you want to kick-start your party a little early, Randy and I will be in Pismo Beach on the 27th-29th. You are welcome to crash with us on your way up the coast… his entire family will be there too at an RV resort… the food is good and plentiful and you are totally welcome to it that weekend. Just a thought.
