Day: 7
Wow! Today flew by. I woke up a little late and skipped the snowboarding, well, because I felt like it. I spent the morning wondering around the Alps just taking these pictures and wondering about how a place could be so amazing. I also thought of all the other places I am going to find in the next year. I am on my trip, enjoying it completely, and I can not wait for the next places I am going to see. The day flew by just relaxing, and as Jo Isley calls it “devoid of adult responsibility”.
So I got a message from Matt, my little brother who is in Alabama studying theology, and because of some airline difficulties he is not going to make it to Milan but will be in Rome on the 18th of this month. So I did a little research and decide to head to Rome, where I have never been, to enjoy a sanctified bottle of wine with my baby brother (and his roommate I guess, who I’ve never meant). I am probably going to head out of Gryon, Switzerland on Sat. the 11th, and spend a week working my way south, through Italy,to Rome. Readers be ready for a change from the snow!

Hey guys, sorry this entries a day late. A storm came though and knocked out the internet connection I have been using. I am trying to keep it up to date but the unforeseen is half the fun of this trip.

Don’t worry about bing late with the pictures. One day won’t change, expected increase my anticipation of great pictures coming. These shots are absolutely great! Since your Mom and I can’t be there, as we had hoped due to the housde being compeltely remodeled, reading your blog and seeing the pictures of places we’ve been is better than we could have hoped. I understand the issue of having to leave Gryon. It’s very difficult to leave such a beautiful place, only hoping the next provides an experience as good or better than Gryon. I diodn’t know about Matt’s change in plans. Hope all will go well, and did you lose your $0.01 flight to Milan? Rats, good bargains are hard to come by. Well, best of luck completing your final days in Gryon. Ifu get back up to Villars, please take and display some photos.
Love, Mike
Your photo of the bench on high is a definite prize winner. Don’t sell it or let it go yet. It may well be a prize winner. The contrast is like we discussed and the action from atop the faroff mountain is incredible. It is posted on my office wall already.
Love, Dad
oh these are some awesome pics. I guess I should search to see what camera you’ve brought along for all of this trekking.
You’re near where I used to live at that point in your trip…
