Jamie + David | Stonewall Ranch Wedding

I could almost have forgotten I was back at work last weekend, when Jamie and David held their wedding at the beautiful Stonewall Ranch Malibu. You’d have read in my earlier post that they’re a rare car-free couple in L.A. Upping their cool factor, I learnt that they met all the way in Ghana while on study abroad 12 years ago! The stars have really aligned for this lovely couple.

Congratulations, Jamie and David, and thanks for making my first post-vacay photography session such a great one!

Yesterday I got out to El Matador for the first engagement session of 2021 with Kelly + Jordan. After this amazing session I hope full of light and joy I hope it’s the direction of the new year… I mean, 2020… right?

Sarah + John | Santa Monica Pier

Sarah + John wanted to do their engagement session at the Santa Monica Pier, and I immediately suggested early morning; the light that time of day is usually beautiful and (even more importantly) there is very few people around. Monday morning was no different when we showed up at 8am, it seemed like we had the entire place to ourselves. As you can imagine, finding that privacy in one of the big tourist draws in Los Angeles is fantastic!

I had a great time getting to know these two and look forward to their wedding in the fall. Thanks to you both for letting me start off my week with a camera in my hand!

Lance + Veronica | San Pedro Wedding Photography

Rain on your wedding day is good luck, right?

Well, it’s even better if you are Lance and Veronica and get the good luck early in the morning, but then the skies clear but leave behind epic clouds and a sweet view of the ocean from San Pedro. I had a fantastic time with these two, shooting their catholic ceremony in Wilmington before heading to San Pedro for photos and their reception at the American Dalmatian Club. Lance even brought his A-game when he surprised Veronica with a special performance with him and his band at the reception!

Thanks to Kenny for helping me shoot their celebration and congrats again to Lance and Veronica – Enjoy being married!

Jake + Noelle | Calamigos Equestrian Wedding

Ah, Jake & Noelle. We’ve gushed about them when recalling their engagement shoot in Paso Robles, and to say we were looking forward to their wedding would be an understatement. Simply by being their amazing selves, it would have been a pretty rad wedding. But they upped the ante by adding a super fun wedding party, horses (Noelle’s dream come true), and the USC Marching Band.

It’s basically too much awesomeness to describe. I’ll let the pictures speak for themselves.

Nick + Natasha | Oviatt Penthouse Wedding

A few weeks back, Felicia and I had the chance to catch up again with Nick + Natasha for their wedding at the Oviatt Penthouse in downtown Los Angeles. It was an intimate gathering with their closest friends and family , and since I have know Nick for a good number of years now, I bumped into quite a few friends of my own, including many of our Santa Pub Crawl buddies!

After the ceremony, which incorporated Persian traditions to honor Natasha’s family heritage, they partied the night away. It was a cool, laid-back, fun, wedding day, befitting of Nick & Natasha.

Reauna & Mark found us through Nathasha & John, and a few weeks ago they wed at Padua Hills Theater in Claremont, where an unexpected mid-July shower caught us all off-guard. Thankfully the rain abated before the ceremony, and we had the opportunity to document an emotion-filled day for this lovely couple. Mark & Reauna are some of the sweetest, most sincere people we’ve ever met, and being able to share in their special day was truly a privilege.

Luis + Lucy Maternity | Crystal Cove

One of the most amazing things about what we do is that we often get to join our couples on their life journey beyond the wedding. We started with a phone consultation with Luis & Lucy since they were living in Florida at that time, shot their engagement session at their first date location in Long Beach, and then their wedding last September.

Now, they are parents-to-be, with their little girl due on their wedding anniversary! For us, seeing them again was like meeting up with old friends, which was really quite awesome.

Though these shoots are commonly referred to as ‘maternity’ photo sessions, we always like to include the Dad too. I mean, it takes two, doesn’t it? Lucy told us that she feels immensely sexy in her new, evolving body, which I found incredibly inspiring and powerful. And well, Luis, he brought his usual intensity. Seriously, these two are naturals!

Big, big congrats to the beautiful couple. We can’t wait to meet the little one!
