August 27th, 2018:
Amr + Yasmeen were married last weekend at the Newcastle golf club in Bellevue. The day was packed with their radiant smiles and Egyptian traditions and I had a epic time at this party where it seemed like just about every guest was on the dance floor!
Congrats you both, I hope Maui was wonderful!

October is a weird month in the wedding world; one would think it would be when all the summer weddings start to slow down and things get quiet for the winter, but I have never found that to be the case in California – October is consistently one of the busiest periods throughout each year.
Right smack in the middle of the month, Brett and I headed out to the Mountain Meadows to photograph Jon + Nicole’s wedding celebration. Since I had already photographer Nicole’s brother’s wedding about 5 years ago, I knew this family could throw a party, and I definitely wasn’t let down. These two and partied their asses off along with all their friend and family!

Damn! Vanessa and Kevin were so full of laughter their entire wedding day that it became contagious – leaving Cara and I smiling the entire afternoon while we photographed their fantastic celebration!
These two got married at St. Denis in Diamond Bar, before heading to the Diamond Bar Golf Course to party with their friends and families. The day just flew by, but I was thrilled to have a chance to spend it with these two excellent human beings.
Congratulations to you both and I hope you had an amazing honeymoon!

When I think of Irvine, I think of spanking new developments and new buildings. It came as a surprise that Strawberry Farms Golf Club is nestled away from the ever-expanding townhome communities, and we found ourselves in a rustic setting, complete with a barn! This was a stark contrast to urban Los Angeles where we last saw Katelyn & Jeff for their engagement shoot, making for an awesome variety of pictures.
For the second time in as many months, we witnessed a parent officiate the ceremony, which is always endearing: in this case, Jeff’s father did the honors.
After the ceremony, everyone took respite from the warm June day as the reception moved indoors, and the guests really upped the tempo and partied the rest of the night away with the newlyweds.

September 27th 2011:
Earlier this month, Felicia and I drove our little car up north to Napa for Pete & Cindy’s destination wedding at The Chardonnay Golf Club (speaking of driving, I’m disappointed we only clocked 36.25MPG on that long drive).
It was a beautiful day for a wedding, a surprising reprieve from the heat seeing as it was pretty warm the day before, and Pete & Cindy made a wonderful day all the more enjoyable by being their awesome selves. I spent the early part of the day alternating between driving Pete around and photographing him (chauffeuring is another of my many talents), while Felicia zipped around with Cindy as they went on a hunt for Pete’s missing tuxedo shirt studs, so everyone got to go on an adventure!
Cindy’s little niece, Priyanka, is really fond of her, and was thrilled to have ‘matching’ shoes as her aunt.
On any given wedding day, I’ve been known to fold pocket squares on the fly, tie ties, pin boutonnieres, but this one thing had me stumped: How to tie a bow tie from scratch.
Thanks to most tux rental places, most of our grooms have the ‘ready made’ bow tie. But Pete had to be all fancy-schmanzy and got a REAL bow tie. Damn. One that needed real tying. One that… neither Pete, nor I, nor the venue coordinator could figure out despite bringing up ‘How To Tie A Bow Tie‘ YouTube videos on my iPhone. Thankfully, one of Pete’s wedding guests is sufficiently stylish to not only know how to tie a bow tie, but how to do it with finesse, so we drove over to his hotel and had him work his magic.
I’m starting to believe that James Bond isn’t trying to look all debonair and casual with his bow tie undone: He just can’t figure the damn thing out.
Those flowers are made of sugar and completely edible. But they look so good that nobody could bear to eat them. Amazing.
Cindy and Pete have been an absolute blast to work with, and as if we didn’t already eat too much while in Napa (more on that tomorrow), they invited us to their day-after brunch with their friends & family where I stuffed myself with lumpia, inari sushi and all other manner of deliciousness. Don’t judge. I worked hard for it.
