Photo shoots are back on! (with yours truly as a masked photographer). After nearly a 3 month hiatus from my camera because of California’s stay at home order, it’s so fantastic to hold a camera again and create some images with my clients!
For Alex + Mike’s session we started outside their place and wandered around the neighborhood which happens to be a couple blocks from Newport Beach. Needless to say it was exactly what this photographer needed to get back out there.
I can’t wait for more shoots this summer!
April 10th, 2020:
So we’re all in the middle of this Covid-19 insanity right now and I’m locked away in Southern California. I had just moved back from Seattle earlier in the year and was crashing at moms while apartment/house hunting when all this hit, so now, (with the majority of my things are all still in storage), I’m living in a weird limbo. As I guess we all are in one way or another.
I’ve been working with clients to postpone and reschedule their shoots and weddings until later in the year. As of now the calendar is clear until June and my days are (very lightly) packed with backing up images, rebuilding my website and cooking… lots of cooking… I am 90% certain I’ll come out of social distancing 15lbs heavier.
I also just got around to looking through some of the last things I photographed before moving that got postponed from the blog and I came across this shoot of Miguel + Lauren from late December (you might remember these two from the epic Star Wars astroshoot out in Death Valley in 2017). This was the second time these two went above and beyond for their pictures and I can’t wait to head to Austin for their wedding at New Years!

Last fall was a crazy time for me, major life shifts, I moved back to Los Angeles and headed off to Asia for more than a month. Also, I feel behind in blogging a bit, no surprise, huh? So I’ll be doing a little catch up now, starting with Megan + Julia’s fall engagement session at Discovery Park in Seattle. These two absolutely charmed me and I can’t wait to head back up there in the summer to capture their big day!
January 31st, 2020:
I flew up to Seattle last weekend to spend an afternoon wandering/photographing with Brittany + Alex (as well as brunching with friends and catching a beer with my old neighbors), and the three of us hit it off immediately; me in that goofy/charming way that I tend to be and the both of them in the purely charming sense.
The afternoon went too quickly as we bounced between the Seattle Arboretum and South Lake union and my biggest sadness during this time was that it was just in the last 3 minutes when D&D was mentioned and all of our super geeks came out.
Thanks for the epic session and I can’t wait to celebrate with you in July!
January 3rd, 2020:
Happy New Year everyone!
I know I’ve been quiet for a while, but big changes have happened over here in my world. I am back living in Southern California, but still doing a lot of work in the Pacific Northwest. Just a few days ago I was up in Seattle for a couple of winter engagement sessions, starting off with Jacqueline + Austin in the Snoqualmie pass.
These two absolutely charmed me and when I was told their dog’s name was Conan I immediately asked “The barbarian or comedian?”
“Barbarian.”
“Arnold or comic book?”
“Arnold.”
“Niiiiiceee.”
From there Austin and I devolved into a minor bromance discussing every fantasy book we’ve ever read and the fun of carpentry; I almost feel like I should apologize to Jacqueline for monopolizing his time.
Anyways, they were both fantastic human beings, and I can’t wait for their wedding in 2021!
October 12th, 2019:
We headed out to Mercer Slough in Bellevue for Kevin + JoBeth’s engagement session last weekend and I am pretty sure we caught the very last day of sun (it turned 35 degrees a few days later).
Thanks for the great session and I can’t wait to see you both at your wedding!
June 24th, 2019:
Late night sunsets and that epic golden light that comes with being in the Pacific Northwest were the perfect setting for Jessica + Rachel’s session last week in Seattle. I was able to get to know them both while wandering Discovery Park and was reminded once again how lucky I am to have such charming and trusting clients! See you both in October!
Walking back to the car, the sky showed up with this, so duh, we had to stop for one more picture.

I headed down to Point Defiance in Tacoma for the first time since moving up to Seattle, and I have to say, DAMN, that’s a great urban park. In fact I dug it so much, that a few days after this epic shoot with Peter + Yo Sun, Felicia and I headed down there ourselves for a Saturday wander!
