Yesterday was a damn near perfect session out in Topanga State Park with Frank + Monica (and their excitable furry friend Riley). They showed up, tossed back a shot to calm the nerves and started having fun.
Thanks for the stunning session and I can’t wait for your wedding next year!

A few weeks ago I headed up to the Bay area in California to photograph the wedding of Marissa and Nate at the Crow Canyon Country Club in San Ramon. It was a stunning day filled with sunshine, fireworks, and joy! Thank you both for letting me celebrate with you!

After a couple of days of rains in March, Southern California experiences an extremely quick “Spring”, where the normally brown grasses turn green and the flowers pop to life. Fortunately for Ryan and Nicole, that brief Californian springtime landed in time for their engagement session in Topanga Canyon State Park and up at Point Dume, overlooking the Pacific ocean. Up for anything, these two trudged around the waist high prickly grasses and braved the cold winds of the bluffs over the ocean and we’re smiles the entire time.
Thanks Nicole + Ryan for the excellent shoot and I look forward to your wedding in October!

In discussing possible spots for their engagement session, I suggested Placerita Canyon Park to John & Lynda. They surprised me by extensively scouting out their favorite spots in this sprawling park, and even spent many hours clearing brush on the trails, so their choice spots would be ready for pictures. Talk about commitment!
Their hard work certainly paid off, as we had an incredible shoot with them. They came ready with travel-related props, since, like Felicia & I, they too met while traveling.
Thanks John & Lynda for being amazing!

Jen & Eli found us a few months ago through Sari, the maid of honor at Lindsay & Joe’s wedding! Last week we got to meet up with Jen & Eli again for their engagement shoot at Monrovia Canyon Park.
We took advantage of the beautiful late afternoon light, wandering around the park till sunset, and looking out for bears (no such luck – just deer).
Gotta love California’s “winter”!

Kate & David are two of the sweetest people we’ve ever worked with. Befittingly, they had an intimate ceremony at Monrovia Canyon Park which certainly exemplified a wedding that was simple, down-to-earth, full of heart, yet visually amazing.
A lot of times, weddings are the bride’s domain, but this lovely event was certainly a labor of love for both Kate & David. Kate’s attention to detail was impeccable, and everything was so cohesive and perfectly complemented the rustic beauty of their wedding location. But as you scroll down this page and admire that amazing wooden arbor, let it be known that David built it himself. Rob assumed he used a CNC router. Nope: those letters with their last name were cut BY HAND! Amazing!
Congratulations Kate & David. Thanks for having us share your special day. Have a beautiful life together!
Peonies are my favorite flower, but until now, it had never occurred to me how well they go with hydrangeas for a full, fluffy bouquet! The burlap on the bouquet was a nice touch that tied in beautifully with the burlap table runners (also DIY!).

Ging & Angelo, (also known as “Ging & Jello”), are based in the Philippines, but are getting married in a couple weeks here in Los Angeles. We all took advantage of the beautiful Californian summer and had an outdoor engagement session at Franklin Canyon Park in Beverly Hills.
Felicia and I had so much fun with this bubbly couple, chatting, joking and laughing while we shot. Congrats Ging & Jello. We can’t wait for your wedding!

The early-summer weather’s been pretty awesome here in Los Angeles, and last week Felicia and I got to enjoy a beautiful day at Topanga Canyon State Park with Collin & Becky, in fields of gold and absolutely clear skies that were an intense blue. Our lovely couple has also deliberately picked this day for engagement pictures as it would be exactly 1 year till their wedding day, so that’s pretty cool.
Thanks Becky & Collin for the fun shoot. We’re glad you enjoyed the ‘friggileys’ as much as Felicia did!

Samantha & Josh live in San Diego, and they happened to contact us just as we were headed to San Diego for a couple of days to say goodbye to Daniel, one of my closest friends, who was moving out of California. Thankfully our schedules all matched up so we managed to meet up for a consultation while in San Diego, and everything went swimmingly. Fast forward a few months, and this time, Samantha & Josh are up here, north of Los Angeles, visiting family. Again, things worked out perfectly as Felicia and I met up with them at Placerita Canyon Park for an early morning shoot. Their boisterous black Lab pups Molly & Ginny were very excitable and seemed to have enjoyed a day out in nature too!
Congrats Samantha & Josh!
