Felicia and I met Michelle at Anthony & Yenny’s wedding last year, and was thrilled when she called me early one morning all the way from Jakarta, Indonesia about a bridal shoot. She wanted some epic pictures and was bursting with excitement and ideas. We quickly locked down dates for a shoot in Nevada at her choice of locations, so Michelle’s Indonesia-based fiance Endy could make plans to fly in to join us.

So the day after her killer yogathon, Felicia and I made the drive out to Nevada and met with Michelle & Endy, who were dressed to the nines and ready to take on Vegas! Michelle’s red gown got a lot of attention during our shoot at The Venetian, as numerous passers-by stopped to comment on how gorgeous Michelle looks and made sure to tell Endy what a lucky man he is.

I was quite bummed at the gondolier’s insistence that we all had to wear seatbelts (nevermind that in the real Venice you don’t have to), but I guess they’re probably tired of fishing drunks out of these canals…

After a quick change of outfits, we headed out onto The Strip for more pictures. Michelle had no less than 5 pairs of shoes to choose from, including a vertigo inducing pair of 4″ Christian Louboutin heels that proved no obstacle as she briskly strode through the streets of Las Vegas. I am used to my clients bringing heels and a pair of flip-flops to walk in, but Michelle just rocked the heels the whole night.

Vegas, with its myriad of lights and near-infinite range of awesome backdrops, meant that we kept adding hours because all 4 of us: photographers and clients alike, were so excited about the awesome imagery we were capturing and just kept going!

Finally at 9pm we called it a day and sat down to some delicious Southeast Asian food at the noodle shop in the Bellagio, where I enjoyed Laksa (a noodle soup in a spicy coconut milk broth). Just thinking about it makes me hungry again, glad we are headed to that region of the world soon.

Thank you Michelle & Endy for taking the time & effort to dress up, and for the great dinner & company! Also special thanks to my wife for taking pictures, carrying gear and holding up lighting despite “aching like a MoFo” (her words, not mine.) from the bazillion Sun Salutations she did the day before.

Part II of their shoot to follow (which is out in the desert surrounding L.V.)
